Lotus Yathra in Tamilnadu
Bharathiya Janatha Party, Tamilnadu State Unit started “Thamarai Yathirai” (LotusYatra) on 19/11/2010 from Thiruvallur District . The yatra would cover the entire Tamilnadu under the dynamic leadership of Shri. Pon. Radhakrishnan, the State President.
The aims and objects of this historical “Thamarai Yathirai” are as follows:
· In order to get Educational assistance to the poor students of Hindu community also
· To bring a people friendly and good government in 2011;
· To find a permanent and lasting solutions to the problems of the farmers;
· To bring down the spiraling rise in the prices of the essential commodities
And
· To save the Temples and Temple properties from the clutches of the greedy politicians.
This historical “Thamarai Yathirai” started on 19/11/2010 from Thiruvallur District, in front of the Arulmighu Vadivudai Amman Temple, Thiruvettiyur in the evening. Shri. Bangaru Lakshmanji, the former All India President Bharathiya Janatha Party inaugurated the Yatra by waving the BJP flag. “Thamarai yathirai” will come to an end on 29.1.2011 at Chennai with a massive demonstration by the party cadres as well as by the people of Tamilnadu. On this concluding occasion, Shri. Nithin Gadkari, National President of the Bharathiya Janatha Party will address the gathering and bring the curtain close to the ruling party to pave way for a good government on the models of Gujarat and Bihar which cares for the welfare of the people
Led by Shri. Pon. Radhakrishnan, State President hundreds of party cadres started the yatra, after offering prayer at the temple.
The inaugural function of the “Yatra” was graced by the powerful presence of galaxy of leaders and dignitaries of the party. Shri. Muralidhar Rao, the National Secretary, Shri. L. Ganesana, Vetran Leader, Former State President and National Executive Member who is in charge of Andaman Islands, Shri. K.N. Lekshmanan, Former State President, and Former M.L.A., Shri. H. Raja, Senior State Vice-President and National Executive Member, Shri. C.P. Radhakrishnan former State President, Shri. Suba. Nagarajan, State General Secretary, Shri. S. Mohanralulu,State General Secretary (Org.), Shri. S. R. Saravana Perumal, Sate General Secretary (org.), Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, State Vice President, Shri. K. S. Narendran, Shri. M. Chinraj former M.L.A, Shri. Surendran, Shri Aadhavan, Shri. Karuppu Muruganandam, Smt. Tamilarasi Yogam, State President, Womens wing and Smt. Victoria Gowri, National Secretary, Women’s wing and several other leaders dignitaries have participated in the inaugural function.
A grand public meeting was also conducted at the venue in front of Arulmighu Vadivudai Amman Temple , Thiruvetriyur. Shri. R.M.R Janakiraman, Thiruvallur District., President, Shri. Bhaskar, State President Farmers Wing, Shri. K. Ganesan, Loganathan, Sukadev, Geethanjali Sampath, Chennai Siva, Natarajan, Venkatakrishnan, Mandal President, Jai Ganesh and Suragi have taken best efforts to make the function grand and successful one.
Almost all leaders, have categorically declared that this “Thamarai Yathirai” will definitely usurp a change in the political history of Tamilnadu.
The next programme of the Yatra was started on 20/11/2010 from Minjur at 9.00am. The Yatra proceeded through Minjur, Jothi Nagar, Ponneri, Krishnapuram,Janappan Chatiram, Kooturoad, Kannigaiper, Periyappalayam, Thamaraipakkam, Poochi Athipedu, Alamathi, Pammadhukulam, Red hills, VInayakapuram, Retteri, and Madhavaram and come to a close with a Public Meeting at 10.30 pm. For this phase of Yatra, S/Shree Chennai Siva, Madhova, Sasidaran, Swshadri, Murali, M. Manohar, Thirunavukkarasar he and latha Rukmangadan have toiled themselves for making the programme a grand success.
Shri. Pon. Radhakrishnan, was able to witness the anguish and anger of the people when they came to know the discriminatory attitude of the State and Central Government in providing the Educational Assistance only to the students of Muslim and Christian communities while depriving the poor students of the Hindu community. There were anger and outburst against the large scale corruption and atrocities meted out to Hindu Temples. People are fully aware that the law and order in Tamilnadu is at its low ebb. The General Public are slowly preparing themselves to bring a change in the ensuing assembly elections 2011.
